CFTC Chair J. Christopher Giancarlo appointed Bruce Tuckman to be Chief Economist of the CFTC. Mr. Tuckman is replacing Sayee Srinivasan, who served as Chief Economist since 2013. Mr. Srinivasan will assume a new role as Special Advisor in the Office of the Chair.

Mr. Tuckman will assume the role on September 5, 2017. Most recently, he served as Clinical Professor of Finance at the New York University Stern School of Business. Before that, he worked at Salomon Brothers, Credit Suisse First Boston, Lehman Brothers and Barclays Capital, respectively. Mr. Tuckman is also one of the founding members of the Center for Financial Stability, a nonpartisan think tank concerned with financial policy and the economy.
