On November 17, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released an online tool to help clinicians understand the Medicare Quality Payment Program, part of the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act of 2015 (MACRA). MACRA was previously discussed here. The tool is available under the heading "Learn About the Quality Payment Program's APIs" on the program's "Education & Tools" web page.

The new "Explores Measures" tool will allow developers to write software for clinicians to enable sharing of quality measure data for MACRA. According to CMS's press release, the tool "enables clinicians and practice managers to select measures that likely fit their practice, assemble them into a group, and print or save them for reference." CMS plans to continue releasing data and additional applications to encourage innovation and keep participants in the Quality Payment Program informed.
