This just in from the American Trucking Associations. As of Sunday, drivers with Commercial Driver's Licenses (CDLs) issued by Illinois, Missouri, New Mexico or Washington State will need some other form of I.D. in order to make pickups/deliveries at airports, military installations and most other federal government facilities. This is because CDLs issued by those states have not complied with the anti-counterfeiting requirements of the REAL ID Act. Access may still be granted to such drivers if they can show alternative forms of I.D. such as FAST cards from U.S. Customs, Transportation Worker Identification Cards (TWICs) from Homeland Security, or valid passports. Trucking fleets located anywhere may face disruptions if a driver with a CDL from one of those four states is dispatched to such a facility.
