On October 6, the European Court of Justice (ECJ) held that the EU Safe Harbor Accord (Safe Harbor Policy), which many US companies rely upon to run their businesses, is invalid. This ruling has left thousands of Internet and e-commerce companies that transfer EU citizens' personal information to the US in limbo about how to legally operate their businesses.
