The Precision Medicine Initiative: Privacy and Trust Principles
is said to guide the implementation of the PMI, a program designed
to deliver more targeted therapies to patients. The
principles fall into six broad categories: (i) governance that is
inclusive, collaborative, and adaptable; (ii) transparency to
participants and the public; (iii) respecting participant
preferences; (iv) empowering participants through access to
information; (v) ensuring appropriate data sharing, access, and
use; and (vi) maintaining data quality and integrity.
