Gregory B. Williams was featured in The News Journal article "The Criminal Justice System Highlights Growing Racial Disparities in Delaware." Full text can be found in the October 19, 2015, issue, but a synopsis is below.

Recent statistics have determined that 56 percent of inmates in the Delaware prison system are African-American causing many to question what has brought about the alarming results. Those focusing on the issue are trying to determine why disparities exist within the area and where improvements can be made to prevent such unjust outcomes.

An emphasis has been placed on the fact that those who do have criminal records are denied many employment opportunities forcing them to turn back to crime. According to Fox Rothschild's Gregory B. Williams, "Becoming a felon is more devastating today than what existed during Jim Crow."

Williams is a member of Delaware's Access to Justice Commission's Committee which is comprised of leaders throughout the community focusing on racial inequality in the criminal justice system.

The committee will be holding hearings in October and November where experts will determine possible solutions that have had a positive impact in other states. Following the hearings, four forums will be held in December giving the public an opportunity to be heard.
