Florida Enacts Drone Privacy Law

On May 14, the Florida governor signed legislation banning drone surveillance of
private individuals without their consent. The law allows
individuals whose photos are captured by a drone when they had a
reasonable expectation of privacy to sue for injunctive relief and
compensatory and punitive damages. The bill became effective on
July 1.
