Gary Born, chair of the International Arbitration Practice, recently gave the keynote speech at "Dispute Resolution in M&A Transactions," a conference organized by the Lewiatan Court of Arbitration in Warsaw, Poland. The conference brought together leading arbitrators, lawyers, in-house counsel, and M&A legal and business advisors to discuss current issues in M&A and joint venture arbitration. Mr. Born's keynote speech addressed current developments in international commercial and investment arbitration. The conference was held in honor of Professor Jerzy Rajski, one of Poland's most distinguished legal academics.

Mr. Born also chaired a roundtable debate on the "Challenges and Future of Commercial Arbitration." The session addressed topics including the relationship between arbitration and litigation; leading arbitration centers; and new fields for commercial arbitration—banking and finance, class arbitration and corporate disputes.
