In the November 12, 2014, Federal Register, FDA announced the
availability of an environmental assessment filed in support of a
citizen petition proposing that the food additive regulations be
amended to provide for the safe use of ethoxyquin in vitamin D
formulations, including 25-hydroxyvitamin D3, used in animal food.
Notice of the food additive petition was published on December 23,
2013.
