Clinton J. David was quoted in the Fox 4 Dallas-Fort Worth article, "Cowboys Suing Fan for More Than $7M Over Stadium Suite Debt." Full text can be found in the November 19, 2014, issue, but a synopsis is below.

The Dallas Cowboys filed a lawsuit Wednesday against a fan, alleging that she has not paid the $500,000 a year rent she owes for her luxury suite.

"This is the same thing as any other standard lease, an apartment lease or anything else; it's just obviously a lot more high-end," said Clint David.

The fan signed an agreement to pay $10 million over the course of a 20-year lease for the Hall of Fame level suite at AT&T Stadium. According to the lawsuit, the fan paid the annual lease fee of $500,000 from 2008 to 2012, but paid just $200,000 last year and has paid nothing this year.

"She personally signed the lease," said David. "She is obligated for that rent through the end of the term, plus 15-percent late penalty fees, plus legal fees."

The Cowboys are asking for $7.3 million in the lawsuit, but according to David, it is unlikely the fan will have to write a check for that amount.

"It's more likely they would come up with some discounted number they would then pay out over some period of time, if they can reach a settlement and if this tenant has the financial wherewithal to pay it," he said.

"I'm sure this is a situation she wishes wasn't occurring," said David.
