Patient confusion could be the reason why many don't sign in to providers' portals, according to a Software Advice survey.
Among the ways to encourage patients to use such portals is to create an incentive program. According to William Maruca, providers should keep the value of incentives to no more than $10 to $50 annually, as the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) has suggested that those amounts are acceptable.
