As hearings to evaluate the contenders for Philadelphia's second casino license continue, two applicants recently argued that their different locations would each deliver more economic benefits to the state.

Representatives from Market East Partners LP emphasized that the Center City Philadelphia site for their proposed Market8 casino – at which an estimated 17,000 people walk by every day – was ideally located. They noted their project would outpace other contenders with regard to revenue and community impact and would offer an estimated $518 million in initial yearly revenues, which is higher than the other proposed casino sites.
