For your information, on December 17, 2013, the U.S.
International Trade Commission (ITC) voted to continue: (1) the
antidumping (AD) orders on hot-rolled carbon steel products from
China, India, Indonesia, Taiwan, Thailand, and Ukraine; and (2) the
countervailing duty (CVD) orders on hot-rolled carbon steel
products from India, Indonesia, and Thailand.
The ITC determined that revocation of the AD/CVD orders would be
likely to lead to continuation or recurrence of material industry
to the U.S. hot-rolled steel industry. The ITC conducts this type
of "sunset" review once every five years.
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN TO IMPORTERS? As a result of
the ITC's determination, the Department of Commerce will
continue the AD/CVD orders for at least another five years. We
expect that the next sunset review will be initiated on or about
January 2019.
