On December 12, the Senate confirmed the nomination of Chai Feldblum (D) to serve another five-year term – ending July 1, 2018 – as a commissioner with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC).  This confirmation ensures that the EEOC will operate with a full complement during the coming year. The term of the Chair, Jacqueline Berrien (D), expires on July 1, 2014.  The remaining commissioners and their term expirations are as follows:

  • Constance Barker (R) (July 1, 2016)
  • Victoria Lipnic (R) (July 1, 2015)
  • Jenny Yang (D) (July 1, 2017)

It remains to be seen whether the three Democrats on the five-member panel will take advantage of their majority status over the next six months.
