Lexington Medical Center agreed to pay $99,400 to settle its potential liability for the submission of claims related to two incidents of excluded employees. The excluded employees were reportedly missed on initial checks but later caught through a routine check. Lexington Medical Center self-reported the exclusion issue and subsequently entered into the settlement. The settlement may be the first of its kind with respect to an excluded party issue. The Office of Inspector General maintains a database of parties excluded from participation in the Medicare, Medicaid and all Federal health care programs. The database may be accessed on the OIG website.
