Fidelity Investments may now support shareholder proxy proposals
calling on companies to provide more disclosure on sustainability
matters, including renewable energy, and environmental impact
issues. Fidelity proxy voting guidelines had been silent on the
issue. In the last two proxy seasons, Fidelity funds opposed or
abstained on every shareholder proposal related to environmental
issues.
The new environmentally conscious guidelines come on the heels
of the emergence of the United States Climate Alliance after
President Trump's decision to exit the Paris Agreement on
climate. For more information, see
