The Conservative Party conference has provided some clarity and certainty around when triggering Article 50 is likely to happen.  It has also been helpful for our clients to know that the intention is to preserve the established body of law (including EU based law) when we eventually leave the EU. 

We are working with clients to help them understand what this will mean for their businesses in practice.  For example, there is a large body of EU law which applies in the UK directly, without any UK implementing law.  How that directly applicable EU law will continue to apply and develop over time, and who will enforce it, is of particular interest to clients in highly regulated sectors like life sciences, chemicals, financial services and food.
