The Charity Commission has overhauled its website at a reported cost of £75,000, having sought extensive feedback from website users. The Commission hopes that the changes will make the website easier to navigate, with a new menu on the homepage giving easy access to information on charities, registering a charity, completing an annual return, changing charity details and making complaints. There are 70 brand new articles containing guidance on common tasks, and it is now easier to locate the Commission's more detailed guidance as the menu at the bottom of each page now lists guidance by subject.

Whilst the old website will no longer be updated, some information is still accessible in the Charity National Archive. However, the Commission advises website users to avoid relying on this information and to refer to the up-to-date information, advice and guidance on the new website instead.

The current intention is for the content from the Commission's website to be integrated with the central government website gov.uk before the end of March 2014.
