In advance of a more detailed consultation due to take place this summer, the Scottish Government Directorate for the Built Environment has issued a flyer summarising its intentions in relation to new Regulations to grant permitted development rights in respect of microgeneration plant and structures on non-domestic property. They are seeking initial views on their proposals, which are briefly set out in respect of each of:

  • Solar
  • Heat pumps
  • Wind turbines
  • Biomass
  • Anaerobic digestion
  • Micro hydro

Respondents are being asked to indicate whether they agree or disagree with the basic proposals, and to provide commentary if appropriate. The flyer can be found here. We will issue a further e-update in respect of the full consultation, once it is published.
