Important notification: New Explosives Regulations - chapter 4 of the Mine Health and Safety Regulations ("MHS Regulations"), which are binding in terms of the Mine Health and Safety Act, No. 29 of 1996 ("the MHSA")

Kindly take note that on Friday, 10 July 2015, a notice was published in Government Gazette No. 38970 (GNR 584 of 2015), in terms of which the Minister of Mineral Resources:

  • promulgated the New Explosives Regulations ( click here to view GNR 584 of 2015); and
  • proclaimed that the New Explosives Regulations will amend and replace the existing regulations contained in chapter 4 of the MHS Regulations, with effect 3 (three) months after the date of the publication of GNR 584.
