Leases: Agreements Outside The Lease
A recent case has highlighted the difficulties that can arise when a landlord agrees to grant a concession but for various reasons does not want to include this in the lease. Often such concessions will be in the form of side letters or separate deeds and these are very likely to bind future owners of the landlord’s interest.

Squatters Register Now
Changes took place to the law of adverse possession following the Land Registration Act 2002. Previously a squatter who had clocked up 12 year's adverse possession could acquire the land.

Surrender and regrant: a reminder to watch out
When making a variation in a lease you need to be sure that a surrender and regrant of the lease is not inadvertently brought about. This may be implied notwithstanding the intentions of the parties .
