Luxembourg regulator, the Commission de Surveillance du Secteur
Financier ('CSSF'), has published a list of frequently asked questions
in order to highlight key aspects of the soon to be adopted
Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive ('AIFMD')
from a Luxembourg perspective. These include:
- definitions of alternative investment funds, alternative
investment fund managers ('AIFMs'), and to what entities
AIFMD applies
- authorisation and registration regimes
- transitional provisions
- authorised activities and delegation principles
- cooperation agreements
Further, the CSSF has also made available new forms to be used by AIFMs when
seeking AIFMD compliant regulatory approval.
