The Government of India has recently permitted one time fund
infusion for the purpose of reviving physically complete
languishing national highway projects under Public – Private
Partnership (PPP) mode and also permitted Rationalised compensation
to concessionaires, in the event of delays which are not
attributable to such concessionaires. Various other steps have been
taken for removing the hurdles affecting the construction of
highway projects including streamlining of land acquisition and
regulatory clearances, close coordination with other ministries,
revamped Disputes Resolution Mechanism etc.
