  1. I have registered a business name so I don’t need to register a trade-mark.
  2. Registering corporate and business names offers little protection within, and no protection outside, the jurisdiction in which the name is registered. Simply registering your corporate or business name does not guarantee that you have the right to use that name as it may be confusingly similar to a previously used or registered trade-mark. Also, a corporate or business name registration does not give you the right to use that name exclusively in the jurisdiction in which you have registered - other parties may use a similar name as long as they do not register it....
