The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit affirmed a jury determination, holding that the statute of limitations under 17 U.S.C. §507(b) did not begin to run until Todd McFarlane, the publisher and compiler of the 'Spawn' comic book, unambiguously denied that Neil Gaiman, the co-creator of three 'Spawn' characters, had any copyright interest in his contribution to the 'Spawn' series.
