On December 30, 2015, the PCPD reported the convictions and fines against an
individual who gave personal data to a third party for direct
marketing purposes. According to the complaint initially filed with
PCPD, the defendant obtained the complainant's information at a
social function and handed it to a third party who later attempted
to sell insurance services to the complainant. The individual was
fined HK$5,000.
