Two of Guernsey's leading private client practitioners were recognised at the Citywealth Magic Circle Awards in London.

Zedra Guernsey Director Elaine Graham picked up the gold award in being named woman of the year: business growth (professional services category), while Saffery Champness Director Lisa Vizia picked up the gong as trustee of the year.

Guernsey-headquartered Asset Risk Consultants were also successful on the night by scooping a double. They were named investment monitoring & consulting company of the tear and technology vendor of the year.

The latter award was earned through ARC's 'Suggestus Platform', which compiles all the data needed for advisers to make formal recommendations for their clients.

Mrs Graham considered her award an honour.

"I was very surprised but absolutely delighted to have won, especially in a category with so many impressive women in the wealth industry," she said. "I am very grateful to the judges and Citywealth.

"My client base includes some large corporate clients as well as high-net-worth individuals and as a trustee you touch many parts of the wealth industry which may have contributed to my success in the awards."

Zedra Guernsey Managing Director Julien Sharpe labelled Mrs Graham as 'one of a kind'.

"She is incredibly professional, constantly exceeds client expectations and is a fantastic leader. While I may be a little biased, she absolutely deserves this award."

Miss Vizia won her prize for contributing expertise and knowledge and helping to bring new levels of excellence to wealth management. She also earned the silver award in being named runner-up in Mrs Graham's winning category.

She said of her success: "I am absolutely thrilled and honoured to have received this award with the calibre of the other leading private client professionals in my category. For our firm to also be runner-up in the trust company of the year category is a testament to the hard work, enthusiasm and dedication of our Guernsey team."

Saffery Champness Managing Director, Nick Batiste, said: "Lisa is an asset to the firm and her commitment, hard work and dedication has been justly rewarded and we are proud of her achievement."

Other companies with a Guernsey presence to see success on the night included BDO, Rawlinson & Hunter, Cazenove Capital and R & H Trust, while Zedra also won a company award in addition to Mrs Graham's triumph.

The Magic Circle Awards, now in its 12th year and organised by the UK-based publisher of wealth-management industry news and directories, Citywealth, brings together a top-level group of elite advisers and managers and highlights excellence in the private wealth sector.

Entries for each category were shortlisted by an international panel of highly respected wealth managers and advisers. Winners were then chosen by the panel of judges together with online voting which carries the weight of one additional judge.
