Guernsey underlined its expertise in the wealth management sector by figuring prominently at Citywealth's inaugural Future Leaders Awards.

The awards, which are open to all wealth management professionals under 40, aim to recognise the excellence of young professionals within the wealth management sector and highlight the leaders of today and tomorrow.

Gold, silver and bronze awards were announced in eighteen categories at the awards, with Guernsey practitioners winning two golds, three silver and three bronze.

Stuart Dowding, Client Services Director at First Names Group, was named the outstanding individual of the year, while Donna Brehaut, Assistant Trust Manager at Nerine Group, took home the gold award in the trustee of the year, boutique category.

Guernsey practitioners to win silver awards were Collas Crill's Kerrie Le Tissier (lawyer of the year IFC – associate); Zedra's Elaine Graham (trustee of the year – institutional); and Butterfield Trust's Nicola Mauger (business services – individual).

Guernsey practitioners to win bronze awards were Collas Crill's Angela Calnan (outstanding individual of the year); Trust Corporation International's Andrew Walters (trustee of the year – boutique); and Nerine Group's Naro Zimmerman (business services – individual).

Commenting on his success, Mr Dowding said: "To be recognised for this award is a fantastic feeling especially when you see the quality of the shortlisted candidates. To have not one, but two Guernsey candidates shortlisted for the same award hopefully demonstrates that Guernsey is a strong leader in the professional services industry. I am proud to have won this award."

Nerine Group Executive Chairman Keith Corbin congratulated Ms Brehaut on her success, as well as fellow staff member, Mr Zimmerman.

"It's fantastic to hear that Donna and Naro have been recognised nationally for their hard work and dedication to their individual roles. I would personally like to congratulate them on their well-deserved awards. There is no greater accolade than recognition from one's peers," said Mr Corbin.

"At Nerine we pride ourselves on the role we take in developing the next generation of trust professionals. Donna and Naro are model professionals and great role models for those entering the finance industry."

Held at the Grange Holborn Hotel in London on Thursday 10 November, winners of the awards were selected by a panel of five judges and a public vote.
