Louvre Group's Marco Ferreira is departing for Hong Kong to lead the organisation's fund administration expansion plans in the region.

Mr Ferreira, now Director of Louvre's Hong Kong fund business, will have oversight of local operations and drive sales and business development activity within the fund services sector.

The Guernsey-headquartered firm has had a presence in Hong Kong since 2007 and has gradually expanded its fiduciary services business. Mr Ferreira's move gives the group additional local capacity and will ensure all opportunities can be fully developed.

The Hong Kong office will provide a local infrastructure along with access to Louvre's fund software which allows for management oversight and support in administrative matters. Louvre's Guernsey team will also be able to take advantage of Hong Kong's time zone to provide valuations at the start of the business day in Guernsey.

"We have seen an ever-increasing demand for fund services alongside our fiduciary-led offering in the Louvre Hong Kong office and Marco will focus on developing business via our existing and new contacts in the territory," said Kevin Gilligan, Managing Director of the Group's fund business.

"In addition, an increased presence in Hong Kong will support the Guernsey office's fund activity and services, further developing the efficiency of our operations."

Mr Ferreira brings international fund services experience to the role, with over 16 years in the finance industry both in Guernsey and in South Africa. He has previously played a key role in establishing an overseas fund administration office and will bring this experience to bear in Hong Kong.

Mr Ferreira qualified as a Certified Accounting Technician in 2006 and was awarded a distinction for his Diploma in Fund Administration in 2010. He also holds an Advanced Certificate in Fund Administration and is certified in Offshore Finance and Administration. During February 2015, he was accepted as a member of The Hong Kong Institute of Directors.

"Expansion of the fund services business into Asia will unlock significant business opportunities for Louvre and whilst Hong Kong will be my main focus, I will be exploring opportunities in Malaysia, Indonesia and China as well," said Mr Ferreira.
