Peter Crook FCIB became the new Director General of the Commission in March, following the retirement of his predecessor John Roper.

Peter formerly held various executive appointments with the Bank of England which he joined following an education at Christ Hospital School and a spell as an officer in the British Army.

Until 1989, when he was appointed the Commission's first Superintendent of Banks, Peter worked in various departments of the Bank of England, including Economic lntelligence, Banking Department, Staff Administration and for two years served as Private Secretary to the Governor. From 1979 until 1986 he worked in Banking Supervision before secondment to the Cayman Islands as Inspector of Banks and Trust Companies under the auspices of the I.M.F.
