By Mark J. Forte and Richard G. Evans

It has been announced that Mr. Barry Leon will replace Justice Edward Bannister Q.C. as the Commercial Court Judge. The appointment, for three years, will commence 16 March 2015.

Mr. Leon is a leading international arbitration practitioner, and his appointment coincides with the recent coming into force of the BVI Arbitration Act.

The Commercial Court has gone from strength to strength under the stewardship of Justice Bannister in the 6 years since it was created.

Conyers Dill & Pearman's team of commercial litigators look forward to continuing to develop their internationally recognised practice in the Commercial Court.
