Program Content:

A $450 billion package to make incentives like the R&D credit permanent collapsed, and Congress is now moving just a one-year extension of the 50-plus tax provisions that expired at the end of 2013. These popular tax benefits will be expiring again as 2015 starts and the new Republican Congress takes over the tax reform effort. Tune in to our one-hour webcast to learn which provisions have been extended, whether Congress could resurrect a more permanent deal for these provisions next year, and how the latest short-term fix and the election results affect the prospects for tax reform in 2015 and beyond.

Learning Objectives:

  • Determine which tax provisions are being extended and for how long
  • Assess what the future holds for these provisions and other tax policy initiatives
  • Interpret what the election results and latest agreement mean for tax reform efforts in 2015 and beyond

Featured speakers:

  • Mel Schwarz, partner, Washington National Tax Office, Washington, D.C.
  • Dustin Stamper, director, Washington National Tax Office, Washington, D.C.
  • Shamik Trivedi, manager, Washington National Tax Office, Washington, D.C.
