Australia: Norton Rose Fulbright announces relocation of global head of Energy to Asia-Pacific

Global legal practice Norton Rose Fulbright has today announced that Simon Currie, global head of energy, will relocate from London to Sydney in January 2015.

"Having spent the last few years creating one of the largest global energy practices in the world through combinations in Australia, South Africa, Canada, Latin America and the United States I am excited to relocate to the dynamic APAC region," says Simon. "The energy markets in the region are of critical importance to the global economy from a supply and demand perspective. I will work with our global clients and our network supporting the growth of inbound and outbound investment. "

Simon has spent over 17 years in London building Norton Rose Fulbright's global energy practice and has advised the energy industry on ground breaking and innovative transactions in over 50 countries. Simon is rated as a leading individual by all of the major legal directories and in one is noted as "one of the most well connected in the energy industry."

Simon will continue to be supported in his role by senior members of the energy practice. They include current head of energy in Paris, Anne Lapierre, who will take the position of head of energy for Europe, Middle East and Africa; and Vincent Dwyer, head of energy for Asia-Pacific, who is relocating to Singapore from Sydney. Vincent joins Nick Dingemans who recently moved to Singapore from Moscow adding further depth to Norton Rose Fulbright's Asia Pacific offering.
