Last Updated: 10 November 2014

DQ's head of corporate & commercial, Mark Dougherty, attended TAGLaw's 31st international conference in Hong Kong on 20-22 October 2014. The conference provided TAGLaw® members with the opportunity to strengthen the relationships they create within the alliance of more than 150 law firms from around the world and to discuss major opportunities and challenges facing global businesses.

At TAGLaw's invitation, DQ's Mark Dougherty co-chaired a session which focused on the implementation of FATCA and global transparency in offshore jurisdictions. Mark's co-chairman was Saul Brenner from New York accountants and advisors Berdon LLP.

Mark said: "DQ's attendance at the conference was a fantastic opportunity to present to so many delegates from leading global legal and accounting firms and to promote the Isle of Man to such important decision makers. My visit to Asia also enabled me to strengthen DQ's links with our existing clients in Hong Kong, an increasing number of whom are using the Isle of Man now."

In addition to various networking opportunities and group breakout sessions, TAGLaw members attended a variety of informative and educational sessions aimed at firm and practice development. Also in attendance at the conference were members of TAGLaw's affiliate alliances, TIAG® (The International Accounting Group) and TAG-SP". All three alliances are collectively known as the TAG Alliances". Sessions and speakers at the conference included:
