Australia: Clayton Utz congratulates Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC) on success at Lord Mayor's Business Awards
Last Updated: 23 October 2014

Brisbane, 16 October 2014: Clayton Utz is proud to see Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC) recognised at the 2014 Lord Mayor's Business Awards for its contribution to the Brisbane community and economy.

BAC was awarded the Clayton Utz Corporate Citizenship award for its leadership and excellence in its economic, social and environmental performance, and its leadership in its workplace initiatives. BAC CEO Julieanne Alroe was also named Business Person of the Year at the Awards.

Among BAC's community initiatives are a Community Engagement Program to provide a forum for community consultation and discussion on airport development, operations and impacts, and a Brisbane Airport Discovery Centre to provide the public with access to detailed and interactive information on the airport's operations. BAC is also actively engaged in the community through initiatives such as a 'School Tours' program, free airport tours for community groups, and attending community events. As an employer, it offers employees a range of flexible work arrangements, and access to a BAC Wellbeing Program.

Clayton Utz Brisbane partner in charge Alan Maguire said BAC was a worthy recipient of the Corporate Citizenship Award. "BAC is a great example of a Queensland business that is actively contributing to Queensland's economy on a range of measures, not just financial. Its community and people initiatives are to be commended."

The Lord Mayor's Business Awards are now in their ninth year. They recognise businesses and individuals who make an integral contribution to Brisbane's $135 billion economy.
