Corrs Chambers Westgarth was the recipient of the Innovation in Legal IT Award for the second time in three years at The Lawtech Conference Awards held last night.

The award recognised the innovative technology solution at the firm's new premises at 8 Chifley, Sydney.

Corrs became the first major Australian law firm to adopt a fully open plan office when the firm relocated to 8 Chifley. The firm's strategic objectives for the move, were to embed a culture of collaboration and to create an inspiring workplace for its people that matched Corrs' employer of choice status.

Jon Kenton, Corrs' COO said the award is fantastic external recognition of Corrs' commitment to innovation for the new way of working.

"We are delighted to be recognised again for our innovative initiatives. The award demonstrates Corrs is leading the way in legal innovation and pioneering new ways of working within the industry."

"Our IT team designed and implemented a completely wireless office in which our laptops, phone calls, digital files and printing can be accessed anywhere around the office as well as setting up highly tailored and technology-enabled work desks and meeting rooms. Corrs' Technology team is helping to drive our business forward towards our goal of being Australia's premium independent law firm."

The Lawtech Awards is one of the most prominent legal IT events of the year. It was established to recognise and celebrate the leaders of the Legal IT industry. The awards have consistently grown in prominence amongst the legal IT community. The event enables IT professionals to engage with the ever changing technical, strategic and management issues required for Law Firm IT departments.
