Nitin P. Shingala, TMF Group India's managing director, was unanimously elected President of the Bombay Chartered Accountants' Society (BCAS) for 2014-2015, officially taking office at the organisation's 65th Annual General Meeting.

An active member for last 25 years, Nitin was a member of the BCAS Managing Committee for 10 years prior to taking over as Vice President in 2013-14.

The BCAS is a voluntary organisation established in 1949, and has more than 9,000 members from all over India. It is a principle-centred and learning-oriented organisation promoting quality service and excellence in the profession of Chartered Accountancy, and a catalyst for more effective government policies and efficient administration and governance.

Says Nitin: "It is a great honour to be bestowed with the responsibility of leading the Bombay Chartered Accountants' Society, an institution that has a glorious past, strong foundation and bright future. During the forthcoming year, the BCAS will focus on exploring new frontiers of knowledge, developing outstanding professionals, mentoring and fostering relationships, and contributing to bringing better laws, regulation and governance."
