Australia: Andrew Lumsden appointed to Takeovers Panel

In a recent announcement by the Acting Assistant Treasurer, Corrs partner Andrew Lumsden was one of four recent appointments to the Takeovers Panel.

Andrew's term will be of three years up to and including 20 August 2017.

The Takeovers Panel is a peer review body that regulates corporate control transactions in widely held Australian entities, primarily by the efficient, effective and speedy resolution of takeover disputes. It now has 41 part-time members from the legal, business, administration, financial markets, economics and accounting industries in Australia.

Andrew is an M&A, securities transactions and corporate governance specialist, with more than a 20 year reputation for delivering high quality results in groundbreaking transactions. From 1998 to 2001 he was the Chief of Staff for the Hon. Joe Hockey MP, then Minister for Financial Services & Regulation.

Andrew said he welcomed the opportunity to serve again on this important peer review body.

This is his second term on the Panel, Andrew was also a member from 2001-2011.
