Australia: Sparke Helmore announces two new insurance appointments

Sparke Helmore Lawyers is pleased to welcome Natasha Crowe and Nick Calnan to the firm's Insurance Group. Natasha and Nick have joined the State Compensation and Liability teams in Melbourne and Sydney respectively.

"We are delighted to have Nick and Natasha join the firm. They are both highly respected and experienced practitioners who will no doubt prove to be valuable additions to our Insurance practice and enhance our existing strong teams in Sydney and Melbourne," said Rhett Slocombe, Sparke Helmore's Insurance National Practice Group leader.

Natasha joins the firm from Hall and Wilcox, where she was a partner in the Accident Compensation Litigation team and created and managed the self-insurance practice. Natasha specialises in state statutory litigation and has a strong background defending pre-litigated and litigated proceedings in the Victorian Magistrates', Country and Supreme Courts.

Nick has more than 12 years' experience specialising in in state statutory classes litigation matters involving latent damage claims and general and product liability claims. He was one of the first practitioners to litigate an insurance recovery under the Dust Diseases Tribunal Regulations, and regularly appears in the NSW Workers Compensation Commission, Dust Diseases Tribunal, District Court and Supreme Courts. Nick joins the firm from Lee and Lyons.
