United States: Sam Louis Joins Strasburger’s Healthcare Team In Houston

Houston, Texas— Strasburger & Price, LLP (Strasburger) is pleased to welcome Sam Louis. Sam joined the firm on August 4, 2014, as a Partner in the Houston office and will focus his practice on the defense of healthcare fraud and compliance investigations. As a former Deputy United States Attorney, Sam will bring a wealth of knowledge to Strasburger's expanding healthcare practice. He is the former Deputy Criminal Chief of the Program Fraud group for the DOJ in the Southern District of Texas and recently served as the Health Care Fraud Coordinator for the DOJ-HHS Medicare Fraud Strike Force in Houston. As the Health Care Fraud Coordinator, Sam was directly responsible for the intake, investigation, supervision, and prosecution of all healthcare fraud matters.

Mr. Louis obtained his J.D. cum laude from Thurgood Marshall School of Law in 1989 and holds a B.B.A. from Lamar University. In addition to his primary focus on healthcare-related fraud matters, Mr. Louis will assist in other white collar defense and investigative matters. He served more than 21 years as a federal prosecutor and gained experience handling complex cases involving a myriad of other white collar crimes such as insurance fraud, official corruption, financial institutions fraud, bankruptcy fraud, tax evasion, bank fraud, intellectual property rights violations, investment schemes, identity theft prosecutions, and fraud against federal programs.
