Seychelles: Appleby Advised PT Berau Coal Energy Tbk On $500 Million Guaranteed Senior Secured Notes Offering

Appleby acted as Seychelles counsel for PT Berau Coal Energy Tbk in relation to the $500 Million Guaranteed Senior Secured Notes Offering to Merrill Lynch (Singapore) Pte. Ltd., Credit Suisse (Singapore) Limited and J.P. Morgan Securities Ltd as the initial purchasers in connection with a Rule 144A/Regulation S global offering. PT Berau Coal Energy Tbk is a holding company listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange that indirectly owns 90% of PT Berau Coal, the fifth-largest coal producer in Indonesia in terms of production volume.

The Appleby team was led by Malcolm Moller, assisted by Senior Associate Juliette Butler and The Davis Polk team based in the Hong Kong and London offices advised Merrill Lynch (Singapore) Pte. Ltd., Credit Suisse (Singapore) Limited and J.P. Morgan Securities Ltd as the initial purchasers in connection with a Rule 144A/Regulation S global offering.
