p>Shilling Limited, a leading specialist in the UK employee benefits and pensions communications industry based in the South of England, is now part of Arthur J. Gallagher & Co, an international insurance brokerage and risk management services firm, headquartered in Itasca, Illinois, listed on NYSE.

Founded in 1999, Shilling is an employee benefits communications consultant that provides various related services for multinational clients. Smith & Williamson acted as corporate finance, accounting and tax advisers to the shareholders of Shilling.  Amanda Phillips, corporate finance director at Smith & Williamson, said: "Kevin Shilling, Matt Frost and the team have built an excellent and well-deserved reputation in their chosen field.  It was a delight to work with the team and the strategic benefits of combining the two businesses is easy to see.  With the support of Arthur J. Gallagher behind them, Shilling is ideally placed to continue to benefit from the increasing recognition of the importance of employee engagement."

Kevin Shilling, Shilling Chairman and founder, said: "In choosing an adviser I wanted someone who would have the ability to present Shilling in the best light, was experienced in complex cross border transactions and who would steer the project through to a successful completion.  Amanda Phillips and the Smith & Williamson team, as well as identifying and introducing us to the buyer, then professionally guided us through what is inevitably a demanding process, to a successful conclusion."
