Cyprus: Seminar On Cyprus's Offshore Hydrocarbon Reserves
Last Updated: 3 June 2014

On 28 May Andreas Neocleous & Co LLC hosted a seminar for clients and contacts on Cyprus's offshore hydrocarbon reserves at its Limassol office. The principal speaker was Mr Yiorgos Lakkotrypis, the Minister of Energy, Commerce, Industry and Tourism. After a welcome address by Maria Kyriacou, the Minister gave a detailed and informative presentation on the current appraisal of reserves, the options for future development and the factors influencing the final outcome. The Minister also highlighted the opportunities the sector presents for Cyprus, noting that major oil service companies had decided to make Cyprus their regional base, and expressed his objective of developing an energy expertise and knowledge base in Cyprus. Following his presentation the Minister answered questions from the audience, which included leading figures from the business community and ambassadors and officials from the Greek, Indian, Russian and USA diplomatic representations in Cyprus.

Elias Neocleous, vice-Chairman of the firm, thanked the Minister on behalf of the guests and the firm and the evening concluded with a cocktail reception on the roof garden of our offices.

Some keynote points arising from the presentation of the Minister will be published in our website news in the course of next week.
