Isle of Man: DQ Attends Cape Town Mining Indaba
Last Updated: 23 May 2014

This week, Simon Heggs of Dougherty Quinn will be heading down to Cape Town, South Africa, for the annual African Mining Indaba being held at the Cape Town International Conference Centre.

African Mining Indaba is one of the leading conferences in world mining, attended by 8,000 professionals from 2,000 international firms from 110 countries. Keynote speakers at the event include representatives of international organisations such as the World Bank, South African Government Ministers as well as representatives of some of the largest mining firms across the world, such as Anglo American and Rio Tinto.

The mood this year for Indaba already seems positive. With capital markets appearing to open up once again after a few years of austerity, optimism seems to have returned to the mining industry.

In addition to attending the client event of Geodrill Plc, for whom DQ acted in becoming the first Isle of Man company to be listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange, Simon will be meeting with a number of corporate advisers and industry specialists throughout the week.
