Cyprus: Visit To The Cyprus Parliament
Last Updated: 14 April 2014

On 3 April 2014 a group of trainees from our firm attended a plenary session of the Cyprus parliament as guests of Maria Kyriakou, head of our Nicosia office, who also serves as a Member of Parliament. Our trainees gained valuable insights on how the Parliament works and saw for themselves how the laws are discussed and voted on. The day also included a lunch hosted by Maria Kyriacou and a comprehensive tour of the premises of the Parliament, taking in not only the main chamber, where representatives meet under the eyes of the media, but also members' private and party offices.

Participants in the visit expressed their satisfaction at being able to see the law take shape and took the opportunity for a parallel exchange of views among themselves on the procedure and the matters under discussion.
