New Zealand: [Invitation] Updates on intellectual property in China – seminars in Auckland & Christchurch
Last Updated: 26 March 2014

China's trademark law is changing: have you heard the lowdown? Join James & Wells and NZMEA for Updates on IP in China.

With China's changing Trade Mark laws coming into effect in May this year, Johnathan Chen, head of James & Wells' Asia Team, leads the NZMEA seminar series covering how these changes could affect your business.

The seminar will evaluate the nature and way New Zealand companies will have to look at IP1 protection and any potential distributor / manufacturer relationships in China.

Topics to be covered in the series, held in both Auckland and Christchurch include:

  • Understanding the rapid change of mindset in Chinese Government
  • How this change of mindset affects IP ownership and IP strategies in China
  • What the Chinese Government has done to reflect this change of mind set
  • What businesses need to look out for when trading with China
  • Case studies and some pointers on the "tricks of the trade"

Johnathan has up-to date knowledge of the IP changes in China, having recently returned from a five week stint in China where he spent time with Chinese IP firms.

Who should attend?
