Isle of Man: DQ Continues To Impress With New Top Rankings
Last Updated: 9 December 2013

Dougherty Quinn ("DQ") continues to make its mark in the Isle of Man, UK and internationally according to the latest rankings in the leading law directory Chambers and Partners.

In October 2013, Chambers published the 2014 edition of its UK guide, which also includes Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man.

DQ's corporate team goes from strength to strength, with clients highlighting, in particular, its client service, noting that the team is "Accessible and responsive" and "able to give answers quickly and decisively."

Corporate directors Tom Maher and Mark Dougherty are two of only three lawyers across the entire Island ranked in the elite Band 1 for corporate & finance.

Annemarie Hughes is listed as "up and coming" in particular for her expertise in pensions and trust matters. Sources commend her as "very thorough." Paul Kerruish is also individually ranked, with his arrival at the firm noted as further enhancing the firm's trust expertise.

DQ's rankings also continue to rise in the dispute resolution department as a result of work for such major clients as Lloyds TSB, RBSI and AIB Group. A notable highlight is the ongoing work acting on behalf of PwC as liquidators of the Louis Group. Client service is a major strength, with clients noting that "Dougherty Quinn is very approachable and offers common sense in combination with a commercial aptitude."

Both Walter Wannenburgh and Giles Hill are ranked by Chambers UK, with Giles' clients noting that he is a "very experienced litigator" who is "understanding, pragmatic, personable and well reasoned." Walter is held in high regard by market sources in particular for his courtroom expertise.

DQ's newly appointed Managing Director, Tom Maher commented: "We are delighted that DQ continues to be recognised by such leading publications as Chambers UK for its expertise and consistently high service levels. Our main focus is always on ensuring that we use the knowledge of our clients and the markets in which they operate to achieve the best possible outcome for them. Recognition and positive feedback from not only our clients but also our peers within the legal community is a welcome added bonus and we are particularly delighted that every one of our directors is ranked amongst the best on the Isle of Man."
