UK: HPMBC Clyde & Co Makes Key Appointments in Strategic Areas
Last Updated: 24 September 2002

The Paris office of the international law firm, Clyde & Co, has made several significant appointments, the first since its merger in May 2002 with HPMBC to form HPMBC Clyde & Co.

A leading team of insurance lawyers from S.G. Archibald, formerly the French operation of Andersen Legal, has joined HPMBC Clyde & Co. The team will focus on non-contentious life insurance and regulatory work, new areas of specialisation for the firm and complementing the HPMBC Clyde & Co’s existing strengths in insurance litigation. Headed by the highly regarded lawyer Xavier Périnne, the team members comprise associates Thierry Kouandjeu, Sandrine Kaladjian, Alban Freneau and Christelle Josse.

Commenting on their recent move, Xavier says;

"HPMBC Clyde & Co has established itself not only as the market leader in France for the Insurance industry, but as part of Clyde & Co, it is also one of the leading firms globally. We are delighted to be joining an organisation with such a strong international reputation in the sector."

The firm has also appointed one of France’s leading insurance academics, Professor Jean Bigot, who joins as a consultant. Professor Bigot was Director of the Paris Insurance Institute, as well as being Professor of Insurance Law at the Paris Law School. He becomes the firm’s resident authority on French insurance law.

Gérard Honig, senior partner of HPMBC Clyde & Co says;

"Since the merger with Clyde & Co, we have gone from strength to strength in France. These are important appointments for the firm and will considerably enhance our capability in strategic areas."
