Australia: Norton Rose Fulbright wins Victorian energy efficiency award
Last Updated: 28 November 2013

On Wednesday night Norton Rose Fulbright was awarded one of Australia's highest honours for office energy efficiency, after significantly improving the energy rating of its Melbourne office.

The firm's Melbourne office won the CitySwitch Victorian Signatory of the Year Award – for offices over 2,000 square metres – for improving its NABERS tenancy energy rating over the past year.

The firm made significant energy savings to its Melbourne office through the implementation of a high-tech smart meter system, which accurately monitors and reports on energy consumption.

Norton Rose Fulbright has been a strong supporter and active participant in CitySwitch since 2009. The firm holds concurrent NABERS ratings in all of its Australian offices.

The Norton Rose Fulbright Sydney office, which has a 4 star rating, received the CitySwitch NSW Signatory of the Year Award in 2011.

Jackie O'Brien, head of the firm's Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives commented, "We are delighted to be recognised by CitySwitch for our ongoing improvements and continue to work hard to reduce our carbon footprint. We understand the positive effect that adopting sustainable practices can have in protecting our world."
