Australia: Norton Rose Fulbright wins for Excellence in Learning and Development
Last Updated: 5 November 2013

Norton Rose Fulbright has won the 'Excellence in Learning and Development' award at this year's Law Society Excellence Awards 2013.

The practice was recognised as being the first law firm to achieve a single, unified, global learning and development strategy.

Winners were announced on Tuesday 22 October 2013 at the Park Plaza Hotel in London.

Carolann Edwards, global director of learning & organisational development, Norton Rose Fulbright commented:

"With offices in over 50 cities, it is a great achievement to have implemented a global learning and development strategy.

"Our global curriculum is designed to help our lawyers understand the common culture, systems and processes of the practice and to ensure consistent quality of service to clients wherever they are in the world. The learning and development programmes have been integral to the successful integration of our international offices. Thus we have just successfully launched the first of our International Academies in the United States. The second will run in December."

Norton Rose Fulbright's learning and development curriculum consists of six International Academies plus modular development programmes and short courses, tailored to meet the needs of each of its principal regions and role levels. Clients participate in 'open' training courses alongside Norton Rose Fulbright lawyers.

Carolann Edwards said:

"This award is a result of the hard work and dedication of our in-house team who research, design and deliver 95% of all the training we provide to our partners, associates, business services staff, secretaries and clients. So, we are absolutely delighted to have been recognised in this manner."
